Ingredients

Recipe
1 1/2 Cup
BeeMaid Honey
1 1/2 Tbsp
Lemon Zest
3/4 Cup
Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 Cup
Ginger (peeled and thinly sliced)
1/2 Cup
Water

Directions

Honey Cough Syrup
1.In a small saucepan, combine the lemon zest, sliced ginger and water. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes.
2.Strain the mixture through a small mesh sieve into a heat-proof measuring cup to remove the ginger and lemon zest from the water.
3.Rinse the saucepan out and pour in 1 1/2 cups of BeeMaid Honey, and the lemon ginger water. Add 1/2 a cup of the lemon juice and stir over low heat until it combines to form a thick syrup adding more lemon juice to the taste and texture you prefer.
4.Pour the homemade cough remedy into a glass jar and let cool completely before sealing with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the fridge for up to 2 months.
Coughsicles:
1.Mix together 1/2 cup of the Honey Lemon Cough Syrup and 1 1/2 cups of water. Pour the mixture into your favourite popsicle moulds or small plastic containers to freeze. Let freeze overnight.
