Peach Sweet Tea Pulled Pork is a tender, flavour-packed dish that brings a southern-inspired twist to your table. Marinated in Auntie Bea’s Tea and slow-cooked to perfection, the pork is then tossed in a homemade honey BBQ sauce made with BeeMaid Honey for just the right balance of smoky, sweet, and tangy. Perfect for piling high on sandwiches, serving at summer cookouts, or enjoying as a hearty main, this recipe is comfort food with a refreshing peachy kick.
Ingredients
Directions
1. In a bowl combine the onion powder, salt and pepper, red pepper and BeeMaid Honey together into a thick mixture. Once combined, brush the seasoned honey mixture on all sides of the pork shoulder.
2. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker then add in the sliced onions and minced garlic. Pour in the Aunite Bea’s Tea on top of all of the ingredients. Cover and turn slow cooker to high, allowing it to cook for approximatley 5 hours (or until the meat is tender and easy to pull apart).
3. Remove the pork from the slow cooker, keeping the remaining marinade juices. Shred the pork slowly with two forks and drizzle some of the marinade juices over top to ensure the meat stays juicy and tender.
4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat. Once melted, turn the heat up to medium high and add in the minced garlic and shallot (cook until fragrant – approximatley 2-3 minutes).
5. Add in the ketchup, BeeMaid Honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, peach preserves and apple cider vinegar. Bring the sauce to a boil then reduce to medium heat. Allow to simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce has thickened (continue to stir regularly throughout).
6. Once the sauce is thick, allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Add a large portion of the sauce to the pulled pork and serve!
