From Bee to Bottle

The making of honey is one of nature’s most amazing processes, the end result of which Bee Maid honey is happy to pass on to our customers.

In a nutshell, this is how honey is made.

Honeybees collect nectar from thousands of flowers, storing it inside their bodies, where it mixes with proteins and enzymes.  Next, they transfer the nectar into a beeswax comb, where it thickens and transforms into honey.  The bees cap the comb with wax and move to the next one beginning all over again.   By early fall, hives are full of capped honeycombs and ready to go.  Our beekeepers extract the honey and ship it to Bee Maid ready to be packed.
