Bee Maid Honey Limited & Cooperative Partners

At Bee Maid Honey Limited, our strength comes from collaboration – much like a well‑run hive. As we evolve how finance operates across a multi‑entity organization, we’re moving toward a shared services finance model designed to improve consistency, controls, and decision‑quality. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to provide senior technical accounting leadership and help shape the financial structure that supports our next phase.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Corporate Controller is the senior professional accounting authority across Bee Maid Honey Limited and its cooperative partners. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Administration, this newly established role carries enterprise‑wide accountability for accounting standards, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit leadership.

You will combine deep technical accounting expertise with people leadership – supporting the transition to shared services while maintaining strong professional judgment and control discipline.

What you’ll do

  • Lead enterprise financial reporting, consolidation, and audit readiness
  • Apply and interpret Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS as applicable)
  • Ensure consistent accounting policies and professional standards across entities
  • Design and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
  • Partner with Finance and IT to support data integrity, systems, and access controls
  • Support the transition to a shared services finance model through clearer roles and stronger processes
  • Translate financial results into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior leaders
  • Coach and develop finance professionals, including CPA candidates

WHO IS THIS ROLE PERFECT FOR

The role is well suited for a senior CPA who:

  • Enjoys being the go‑to technical accounting authority, while still staying hands‑on with complex or high‑risk issues
  • Is energized by designing stronger, more consistent finance processes across multiple entities
  • Has experience (or strong interest) in shared services models and understands both the opportunities and the change management involved
  • Values strong governance and internal controls, while keeping solutions workable and human‑centered
  • Enjoys leading and mentoring finance professionals
  • Likes working closely with senior leaders – translating financial detail into clear insights that support better decisions
  • Is motivated by enterprise‑wide impact, not just ownership of one set of books

If you’re a finance leader who enjoys “building the right structure” as much as delivering accurate results, this role offers both challenge and influence.

WHAT YOU BRING

 Required

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; or CPA, CMA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including audit and financial reporting leadership
  • 3–5+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Strong professional judgment and a control‑oriented mindset
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong data/analytics capability
  • Ability to travel within North America

Preferred

  • Experience in food manufacturing, processing, retail, or consumer packaged goods
  • Experience in complex inventory and cost accounting environments
  • Experience supporting Executives and Boards
  • Exposure to finance transformation or shared services environments
