History

More than six decades of sweetness

Not many food companies in Canada have a story like Bee Maid’s. It all began in the 1950s when a few innovative beekeepers had a dream to form an organization that would allow them to sell their high-quality Canadian honey throughout the world.  Bee Maid Honey Limited was born in 1954 when Manitoba and Saskatchewan Honey Co-operatives agreed to work together to distribute their honey. Alberta joined officially in 1962, and the co-operatives embarked on a journey to build Bee Maid Honey Limited and the BeeMaid brand.

Our honey knows no borders

Today, we package members’ honey in two facilities: Spruce Grove, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba. We strive to be the honey experts in Canada, pushing ourselves to be on the forefront on taste, quality, safety and traceability.  We grow each year and we’re proud to provide our honey in our own branded packaging, through private label brands and to food service operators and food manufacturers across Canada and around the world.
