Western Wax Works is a subsidiary of the Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative Limited which has over 185 members, and represents approximately 40% of the Alberta
honey production. Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative Limited was founded in 1940, marketing the members honey under their marketing arm of Bee Maid Honey to over 30 countries worldwide. Raw beeswax from beekeepers operations provides the basis for the wax processing operation.
Western Wax Works was established in 1994 to process beeswax and wax blends. A unique processing technology is utilized to produce waxes meeting pharmacopoeia standards for use in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Non pharmaceutical products include colored wax sheets and bulk beeswax used primarily in the candle, craft and hobby industries.
