Bee Maid Welcomes Applications for 2008 Scholarship

The Bee Maid Fiftieth Anniversary Scholarship was created in 2004 to commemorate the formation of BeeMaid Honey Ltd in 1954. Bee Maid’s fifty years of service to its members is an outstanding achievement. The Scholarship will recognize and encourage children and grandchildren of our members and staff as they enter post-secondary study. The Scholarships are designed to stimulate the pursuit of excellence by rewarding outstanding achievement.

VALUE
Two separate scholarships will be awarded, each valued at $500.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be:
• A child or grandchild of a member of the affiliated producer coops: (Alberta Honey
Producers Cooperative Ltd., Manitoba Cooperative Honey Producers Ltd.) OR the child
of an employee of an affiliated cooperative or BeeMaid Honey.
• Enrolled or applied for enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada.

SELECTION PROCESS
Each recipient will be selected on the basis of:
• Academic achievement in the previous year.
• Evidence of community involvement.
• A 300-500 word essay on a topic related to agriculture.

Deadline for receipt of applications – January 31, 2008
