Alberta Honey Producers processes and packages honey for its members.

Beekeepers who wish to become members must fill out an Application for Membership and Quota Base. If the application is approved by the Board of Directors at their next quarterly meeting, the approved beekeeper must sign a contract to deliver their honey to the Co-op. The minimum shipping quantity is 5000 pounds per year.
The Board of Directors meet every March, May, October and November.
A brochure on the policy and history of our Co-op is available in pdf format. Download policy.
The Co-op supplies good quality 45 gallon drums, with a gasket, for honey F.O.B. our Spruce Grove Plant. There is a freight allowance for the delivery of full honey based on a straight line distance from the member's honey production plant to Spruce Grove.
Payments are made over a period of time from the date of delivery to November of the next honey production year. Approximately 50% is paid after the product is delivered and graded. Interim payments are historically paid on January 15, March 15 and June 15 with a final settlement in November, of the next crop year. By March 15, usually 80% of the honey has been paid. Members can apply for advances on honey. Interest on negative account balances are charged interest at 1/2 % above prime while positive account balances are paid interest at 1/2% below prime.
The Co-op has Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance available for the beekeeper. The honey destined to the Co-op is also insured against accidental loss.
